Public Housing Waiting List

How Will I Know My Position in the List?

How is the Position on the Waiting List Determined?

Public Housing Waiting List

The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption has launched a new service for those eligible for public housing which provides, for the first time, online access to the public housing waiting list and to public housing eligibility criteria. This new service augments existing online services provided for immigrants by the Ministry, allowing them to access their secure online immigrant file.
During the first phase, the service will be provided for the first 100 eligible immigrants on each waiting list only. The service will be extended at the beginning of April 2010 when it will be provided to the general eligible immigrant population.

Please note!
Local Ministry representatives will contact you and schedule a meeting for you according to your requirements. During this meeting, you will receive a personal password for your online file.
We urge you not to arrive at the Ministry without prior arrangement.

Access to the public housing waiting list improves the services provided for eligible immigrants by allowing them to easily and efficiently monitor and control their public housing application without requiring their presence at the Ministry.

How Will I Know My Position in the List?

Your position on the list can be accessed from your online immigrant file. Entry to your personal file is available via a personal password which you will receive during your meeting with ministry representatives.

Please note!
Local Ministry representatives will contact you and schedule a meeting for you according to your requirements. During this meeting, you will receive a personal password for your online file. We urge you not to arrive at the Ministry without prior arrangement.

Your position on the waiting list is determined according to your current personal information as listed in the Ministry databases. Should there be any inaccuracies or incompatibility of the data registered in your online file and the data you currently possess, you must coordinate a meeting with your local housing advisor.

In order to access your personal file, you must click this button, which you will find on the website homepage:

The online housing file contains the following information:

Information pertaining to families eligible for public housing: date of immigration, number of family members.
Position on the waiting list: A list of up to 3 residence requests and the 'position on the list ‘for each.
Application information: Date of application, authorization of eligibility, pertinent office, date of committee, type of list, committee resolution.

How is the Position on the Waiting List Determined?

The public housing waiting list is determined automatically so as to reflect the availability of public housing allocation in accordance with regulations. In general, placement is determined according to the following criteria:

 Date of immigration
Desired residence (up to 3 in total)
Address (As is current in Ministry databases)
Eligibility code (Per criteria specified in regulations and in accordance with the Exceptions  Committee)
Special Status - Membership in any of  the following groups: IDF veterans, Prisoners of Zion, families persecuted by the British, World War II invalids, Holocaust survivors, victims of enemy actions.

Acquisition Assets List - In the future, the service will include this list as well. If you wish to clarify your position on the list of approved budgets for apartment acquisition, please refer to your local housing department advisor.

Standard list, senior citizens and lower floors - Generally 'prioritized' per committee-established criteria and per 'residence location' according to the following specifications:
Priority - In accordance with Exceptions Committee decisions.
City of Residence - All immigrants currently housed in their desired city of residence (per Ministry records).
District of residence - All immigrants currently housed in districts which are entitled to Service Office aid.
Nationwide - All immigrants currently housed beyond Ministry jurisdiction of their desired residence.

Be Advised:
Apartment allocation is conducted also in accordance with apartment dimensions and number of family members. Hence, it is not perforce that the first in line will receive the first apartment available.
Position in line may vary due to changes in your personal information file and due to changes in the status of other candidates’ information, as well as per Irregular Committee decisions which determine prioritization in justifiable irregular eventualities.
The list details only the position of the first 100 members of each local list.

Your position in line is determined according to your current personal information in Ministry databases. Should there be any inaccuracies or incompatibility of the data presented in your online file and the data you currently possess, you must coordinate a meeting with your local housing advisor.
