Targeted Research Fund for Returning Scientists
Within the framework of cooperation between the European Union and Israel in the area of research and development, Israel is a participant in the Marie Curie International Reintegration Grants program.
The goal of the program is to offer financial aid to researchers from Israel that have undertaken scientific research in non-European countries, for at least 3 years, and who wish to return to Israel and continue their research.
Researchers who returned to Israel are required to submit a research proposal before they begin to work. Research proposals may be submitted throughout the year.
Research proposals in all scientific and technological research fields with the exception of nuclear research included in the EURATOM accords.
Requests for assistance should be submitted in conjunction with a 'host research organization' in Israel.
If a request is accepted, the financial assistance will be given directly to the host organization, which will promise the successful absorption of the returning researcher within the organization for a minimum of 3 years.
Assistance is up to 100,000 Euros is transferred to the host research organization in order to cover research costs for the first two years of research.
Financial aid may not be used to cover the researcher's salary but only research expenses such as acquisition of equipment, travel costs, salaries of other employees, etc.
